Brunette told me that her actual birthday was May 11, 1929 but for some reason and I don't remember the reason, the date has been listed as May 17, 1929. So i put her original birthday date because of astrological reasons. I'm listing this here just for researcher references.
Brunette told me that she went to Benin/Togo to visit with her brother who was working there in Africa at the time. I will see if I can find out any more information about that trip from other family members.

ReplyDeleteWe have embarked on a project to identify as many of the African Americans in Washington County before emancipation as possible, and reach out to their descendants. We are creating a family tree on Ancestry dot com that hopefully will be beneficial to descendant researchers.
